Fairfield Halls is Croydon’s largest centre for arts, culture, entertainment and community participation with a mission is to engage, excite and entertain the people of Croydon. This is achieved by providing a varied programme of artistic performances and related activities. Fairfield’s guiding principle is to offer something for everyone, with an artistic programme that is recognised for its breadth, quality and accessibility.
Since 1962, some of the greatest stars of music, variety, comedy and theatre have performed at Fairfield including The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Eddie Izzard, Shirley Bassey, Miranda Hart, Johnny Cash, McFly and many more. However, over 30% of Fairfield’s programme is also aimed at young people, families and school groups.
Fairfield Halls is a multi-arts centre comprising the 750-seat Ashcroft Theatre, 1800-seat Concert Hall (with Croydon’s largest cinema screen), the Arnhem Gallery (a standing concert and seating space for 400) plus additional rooms. As well as being used for professional artistic events Fairfield’s spaces are also used for a myriad of different activities including dance classes, theatre groups, meetings, conferences, exams, professional training courses, recruitment events, job fairs, award ceremonies, graduation events, arangetrams, religious services, weddings, parties, dinners, school proms, art exhibitions and performances by non-professional groups.
