In a programme centred around Frank Martin's Mass for Double Choir (1922), we explore the relationship between words and music. Other music includes Palestrina's "Sicut Cervus" (c. 1584), Randall Thomson's "Alleluia" (1940), Poulenc's "Exultate Deo" (1941), Sheppard's "The Lord's Prayer" (c.1553) and Howells' "Take Him, Earth, for Cherishing", written in 1964 for J.F. Kennedy's funeral.
