November 1st in Mexico is Dia delos Muertos - Day of the Dead; it is a time of remembrance and celebration of friends and relatives who have died. The three-day fiesta is filled with marigolds, the flowers of the dead; muertos (the bread of the dead); sugar skulls; cardboard skeletons; tissue paper decorations; fruit and nuts; incense, and other traditional foods and decorations.
We're bringing a little bit of Mexico to East Croydon and holding our own fiesta at The Oval to raise money for local Bereavement Charities with food and music; costume and dance.
