Direct from duties at Buckingham Palace, the Band of the Coldstream Guards return to the Fairfield Halls to celebrate this most important of English Days, St George’s Day. This finest of English Regiments, representing Her Majesty’s Household Division, will be performing alongside local Salvation Army trumpet soloist Thomas Nielsen, winner of the coveted BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award 2018 and finalist in the renowned Sir Karl Jenkins Music Award in association with Classic FM. We are also delighted to welcome one of the band’s favourite guest artistes, the renowned Mezzo Soprano Susanne Dymott who will be singing a selection of quintessentially English songs in an evening of musical excellence.

In a first for Croydon, The Coldstream Guards will be joined on stage by the Salvation Army Band from the Croydon Citadel. These two musical institutions have close links dating back many years and are reuniting once again for St George’s Day.

For one night only, you will be taken on a journey through Old England and treated to the unique sound of pomp & ceremony from some of the world’s most renowned bands.

Tom Nielsen is a B&S, Besson and Courtois instruments artist.

Proceeds towards the Guards Museum and Veterans Aid one of the country’s leading military charities, who care for veterans in crisis.
